Grocorp recommends a 6 monthly care and maintenance program for all natural outdoor timber furniture and play equipment to ensure natural timber surfaces are safe for children. The care and maintenance program should include an inspection and use of sand paper or sanding block to remove  sharp edges to cracks and splinters. Once the surface is clean and dry apply a liberal coating of natural timber oil with a sponge or cloth. A regular maintenance program is essential to reduce cracks and splinters which are not warrantable by Grocorp. 
 
In regard to natural timber surfaces used for meals it is essential that the surfaces are thoroughly cleaned after each use, as food will enter the natural timber cell structure and cause mould and grime to build up that will discolour the timber surface which is not warrantable by Grocorp.
